Whitehall -- Auditions for The Baldwin Players fall production, "The Mousetrap" by Agatha Christie will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, with callbacks at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Asbury Hall of the Baldwin United Methodist Church, 5001 Baptist Road. Bethel Park -- Christian music artist Randall Goodgame will perform his Slugs & Bugs tour for children ages 10 and younger at 4 p.m. Sept. 21 at Christ United Methodist Church, 44 Highland Road. Cost: $5 a person. Tickets: 412-835-6621.


Scott and Mt. Lebanon -- The Peanut Squares Square Dance Club will offer two nights of square dancing for those interested in learning the dance from 7:30 to 9:15 p.m. Sept. 19 at SS. Simon and Jude Church, 1607 Greentree Road in Scott and from 7:30 to 9:15 p.m. at Southminster Presbyterian Church in Mt. Lebanon. No experience, costumes or partner required. Ages 9 to 90 welcome, and refreshments will be served.


North Franklin -- Washington Crown Center and Washington Christian Outreach are partnering for Blessings in a Backpack, a program that provides supplies and food to local elementary students in need. Shoppers are encouraged to help fill backpacks by bringing school supplies and canned goods to the Washington Crown Center management office at 1500 W. Chestnut St. from Sunday through Aug. 25.

Whitehall -- The Southwestern Pennsylvania Registered Nurses Club will hold its 14th annual fall card party from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 28 at South Hills Country Club, 4305 Brownsville Road. All proceeds are for the nursing scholarship fund. Admission is $25, which includes lunch and door prizes. Tickets for a ticket auction, Share the Wealth and raffle will be sold at the event. Dormont -- A farmers market is held from 4 to 7 p.m. each Monday through Oct. 28 at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church parking lot, Alabama and West Liberty avenues.

Pleasant Hills -- The Pleasant Hills Lions Club holds a farmers market from 3:30 to 7 p.m. each Thursday through Oct. 17 in the parking lot of Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church, 199 Old Clairton Road.


Peters -- The Peters Township Teen Executive Council is inviting people new to the community to attend open houses at 6 p.m. or 7:45 p.m. next Thursday at the Peters Township Public Library, 616 E. McMurray Road. The event will welcome people to the library and introduce them to the resources available. Nottingham -- The Washington County Department of Parks & Recreation will offer 50-minute group hayrides, accommodating 25 people an hour, in Mingo Creek County Park on Fridays and Saturdays in October. Hayrides will be offered from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 11, 18 and 25; 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 12; and 1 to 8 p.m. Oct. 19 and 26. Cost is $50 per hayride. Call the parks office to reserve a time: 724-228-6867.

Whitehall -- A series of outdoor tai chi classes for adults taught by fitness instructor Don DeMasters will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Tuesdays from Aug. 27 to Oct. 1 at Brennan Plaza at the Whitehall Public Library, 100 Borough Park Drive. Brentwood -- Play bingo from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the program room of the Brentwood Public Library, 3501 Brownsville Road. Bingo is held the third Thursday of the month.

Peters -- Donate blood from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 28 at the Peters Township Public Library, 616 E. McMurray Road. Blood will be sent to the Central Blood Bank, and donors will receive two Pittsburgh Pirates tickets in the mail. Appointments can be made by visiting and entering code C594 or call 412-209-7213. Walk-ins welcome, but appointments are encouraged. If donating, bring valid ID, eat a healthy meal, drinking fluids and get a good night's rest.

Washington -- Jewish residents are invited to become members of Beth Israel Congregation for free for one year. Whitehall -- The Sisters of St. Francis of the Providence of God are hosting a tea event at 1 p.m. Aug. 25 at the Sisters of St. Francis of the Providence of God Convent, 3603 McRoberts Road. Bethel Park -- The Home Instead Senior Care Center for Training and Education, 2000 Oxford Drive, Suite 415, will hold an Alzheimer's Care Training Workshop from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 24.
