The former facilities manager at Magee-Womens Hospital was sentenced today to 14 months in federal prison for using a UPMC business credit card for more than $70,000 in personal expenses.
Timothy L. Mangis, 49, of North Fayette, pleaded guilty to wire fraud in January, admitting he used the credit card at Pep Boys, Best Buy and other places to pay for car repairs, building materials, appliances and electronics.
The U.S. Secret Service, which investigates financial crimes, calculated the expenditures.
In addition to the 14 months behind bars, U.S. District Judge Mark Hornak ordered him to be on probation for three years when he gets out.
