Fayette County police standoff ends peacefully

A two-hour standoff with police in Connellsville that involved a shot being fired ended late Saturday without injury.

A Fayette County emergency dispatch supervisor said a man who lives on Snyder Street was taken into custody around 11 p.m. after holding police at bay since about 8:40 p.m.

During the incident, at least one shot was fired, the supervisor said. But, no one was hurt. The man had been threatening to shoot himself.
