Allegheny County homicide detectives are investigating the Thursday shooting death of a West Mifflin woman.

Loretta Jackson, 65, was found in a bedroom of her Patton Street home with multiple gunshot wounds.

West Mifflin police Chief Kenneth Davies said West Mifflin and Munhall police responded when a burglary alarm at home was activated shortly before 4 a.m.

When police arrived, they noticed signs of forced entry. Chief Davies said police have received calls to respond to that house before, but he wouldn't elaborate because he said those calls are part of this investigation.

"Do I think this was a random act?" he asked. "No."

No arrests have been made. An autopsy will be completed today.
