State Police at Uniontown said charges are pending against a truck driver who crashed his tractor-trailer on Route 40 in North Union, Fayette County.
Tyrone Davis, 44, of Milwaukee, was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital for treatment of injuries. Those injuries were not described.
Police said Mr. Davis was westbound on Route 40, traveling down the summit, when the accident occurred. Police noted that Mr. Davis did not stop his truck at the top of the mountain as he was supposed to.
Police said Mr. Davis lost control of the vehicle due to "excessive speed" and it struck a barrier then overturned.
Both eastbound and westbound lanes were closed to remove debris, police said. The accident happened at 4:35 p.m. Saturday.
Police said charges are pending.
