A 22-year-old woman made up her entire account of an attempted abduction in West Mifflin, police said.

After conducting an investigation, West Mifflin police obtained a written and verbal statement from Heather L. Heath, 22, saying that the attempted abduction she reported Monday never happened.

Police said in a press release that they reviewed physical evidence and surveillance tapes before speaking with Ms. Heath today.

Ms. Heath had reported to police that a man approached her at a Century Drive bus stop, eventually grabbed her and placed something over her mouth with a liquid on it. She told police she was able to escape.

The fluid on her jacket and personal items was water, police said.

Police said they are "considering criminal charges and/or other mental health options" for Ms. Heath.
