CLASSES

McKeesport -- The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, 1507 Library St., will host a program by Jill Yesko of Discover Organizing from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. next Thursday to help parents learn how to teach their children to be more successful in school using organizing skills and time management. Bethel Park -- Bethel Park Lions Club will hold its annual fall fish fry from 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 21 at Lions Park, 5757 Irishtown Road. Fish or shrimp dinners include coleslaw, french fries, macaroni and cheese, and water. Cost: $9. Takeout available. Hot dog dinner also available for children. Proceeds benefit Lions charities.

FITNESS

Peters -- West Penn Allegheny Health System will offer tai chi, a combination of exercise and meditation that can help people cope with arthritis pain, in an eight-week workshop that begins Monday at the Outpatient Care Center, 160 Gallery Drive. The workshop also will be offered in the Professional Building at Allegheny General Hospital on the North Side. Fee: $75 for one class per week, $130 for two classes per week. FUNDRAISERS

Homestead -- The Mothers and Daughters Guild of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Homestead have compiled a collection of 371 recipes into one cookbook, which they are selling to raise funds for projects and charities connected to the church. The cookbook is available for $17 at the church auditorium, 903 Ann St., from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sundays.

Bethel Park -- An Alzheimer's CARE training workshop, hosted by Home Instead Senior Care, will be offered from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 25 at the Home Instead Senior Care center for Training and Education, 2000 Oxford Drive, Suite 415. The workshop teaches caregivers how to care for themselves and their loved ones.

Upper St. Clair -- Narateen, an organization for young people affected by the drug or alcohol use of a family member or friend, meets from 7 to 8 p.m. every Monday at the Upper St. Clair recreation center, 1770 McLaughlin Run Road. Meetings are anonymous and open to anyone between the ages of 10 and 21 troubled by a loved one's drug or alcohol use.
