A Dormont youth soccer coach has been relieved of all coaching duties after he was arrested in Eastern Pennsylvania for sending child pornography photos to an undercover police officer posing online as a 14-year-old girl.
George Carvlin, 54, has coached for eight years with the Keystone Oaks Area Soccer Club.
"We are all really surprised. His own children play for the club. He and all of our coaches just received clearance in March from the state police. We do that about every two years," said John Brosnan, president of the KOAS Club.
Mr. Carvlin is the secretary of the soccer club, but he has been relieved of those duties as well, Mr. Brosnan said.
Mr. Carvlin was arrested Thursday in Monroe County after he and the undercover officer agreed to meet in Canadensis, where he was taken into custody.
Mr. Carvlin is also a Boy Scout leader, according to the Web site of the Greater Pittsburgh Council Boy Scouts of America.
