A New Castle man was charged today after his father was found dead last night.
Michael Burrelli, 28, is charged with criminal homicide, abuse of a corpse and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, after his 52-year-old father, Charles Burrelli, was shot to death, according to state police.
Union Township police responded around 2 a.m. after an "acquaintance" of the son told police about "a possible homicide," according to a news release.
The father was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lawrence County Coroner's Office, according to police.
The son has a preliminary hearing scheduled for August 29 and was being held at the Lawrence County Prison, court records show.
No other details were immediately available.
