An Avalon man was arraigned today on charges that he raped a 14-year-old girl and recorded video of it.
Allegheny County police wrote in a criminal complaint that Dhaque Jones, 18, confessed to the crime when they confronted him after serving a search warrant at his home on Tuesday.
The girl told police that she had been exchanging messages with Mr. Jones on Facebook and agreed to sell him a wallet, camera case and an iPod.
Mr. Jones met her on Friday and took the items, saying he would return with payment, police wrote. The girl said the two agreed to meet again on Saturday at Avalon Elementary School.
When they met there under the guise that Mr. Jones was going to pay for the items, he pointed a gun at the girl and raped her, according to the complaint.
Mr. Jones faces charges of rape, corruption of a minor, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, theft and other crimes. He is currently being held in the Allegheny County Jail on $500,000 bail and did not have an attorney on file.
