North Allegheny appoints Pittsburgh Public Schools principal as assistant superintendent

The North Allegheny School Board Wednesday appointed Robert J. Scherrer as assistant superintendent of K-12 education.

Mr. Scherrer is principal of the Pittsburgh Science Technology Academy.

He was appointed for a five-year term by North Allegheny, beginning Aug. 1, at an annual salary of $145,000.

The board also appointed Daniel O'Rourke as assistant principal of Carson Middle School in McCandless. He will begin July 22 at an annual salary of $100,000.

Mr. O'Rourke is a social studies teacher in the Upper St. Clair School District.
