Seneca Valley School District residents will be paying more in school taxes for the coming year.
School board members officially passed the 2013-14 school year budget during a meeting tonight.
The $101 million spending plan includes a 2.75 mill tax increase.
According to school officials, a home with a market value of $250,000 would have a school property tax increase of $94 under the new budget.
Seneca Valley officials started the budget process in January with a deficit of about $2.8 million.
In addition to the tax increase, the district is eliminating three teaching positions and has replaced 17 retirees with new employees paid at a lower rate to balance the budget.
