Harrison -- The Highlands School District music department will host "Highlands Gives Back," its annual concert featuring Highlands musical faculty, alumni and friends, at 7 p.m. Friday at Highlands Middle School, 1350 Broadview Blvd. Donations of money, nonperishable food items and children's clothing will be accepted as admission. Proceeds benefit Allegheny Valley Association of Churches Food Bank, Highlands Area Meals on Wheels and the Alle-Kiski Hope Center. Gift basket raffles, drawings and refreshments will be part of the event.
Butler -- Veterans Affairs Butler Healthcare will host a Go Red for Women event to support the fight against heart disease in women veterans from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 1 in the VA Butler Healthcare Auditorium, 325 New Castle Road. The event will include live demonstrations of healthy cooking and exercise, an exercise for stress management session focusing on Yoga and Tai Chi, a "Veterans Go Red" feature session, and information on VA programs such as, tobacco cessation, health promotion and disease prevention, and more. Attendees will be entered in a drawing to win a door prize, and the first 100 attendees will receive a Red Dress pin from the American Heart Association.
Hampton -- St. Mary of the Assumption Parish, 2510 Middle Road, will host an evening of prayer and praise at 7 p.m. Sunday featuring a performance by the Pittsburgh Gospel Choir. Local clergy will participate, and a reception will follow in Marian Hall. Information: 412-486-4100.

Cabot -- Dennis Bowman, KDKA weather forecaster and a ventriloquist, will be a guest of independent living residents at Concordia at Cabot at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Haven I Dining Room, 112 Marwood Road. The show is free and the public is invited. Information: 724-352-1571.
Sewickley -- Sewickley Academy, 315 Academy Ave., will host its International Dinner at 4:30 p.m. Saturday in the middle/senior school cafeteria. Performances will begin at 6 p.m. in Rea Auditorium. The Students Advocating for Equity, or SAFE, Club and various cultural clubs will host the evening of cultural performances and food for fellow students, parents, supporters and members of the community. The dinner is free and open to the public.
Areawide -- Registration is open for the Ingomar/Franklin Park Athletic Association's baseball and softball programs for boys and girls, ages 4-19, and for softball programs for age 19 and older. Registration is open to residents of McCandless, Franklin Park, Marshall and several surrounding areas. A special needs program is included in the leagues.
