A Beaver Borough police sergeant suspended after a woman claimed he stalked her and threatened to kill himself has agreed to a new suspension and to a demotion to patrolman for one year.
In reaching agreement with the borough council, Sgt. Ken McCoy does not admit to any wrongdoing, but accepts previous suspensions imposed by the council and agreed to drop a civil lawsuit against the borough and its mayor.
Sgt. McCoy's lawyer said he's satisfied with the agreement.
The council heard testimony from the woman, who filed a protection-from-abuse order on Oct. 1, and from neighbors who complained about Sgt. McCoy's behavior.
