A Beaver police sergeant has surrendered his personal and duty weapons and is taking personal leave after a woman told police he stalked her and threatened to kill himself.
The attorney for Beaver police Sgt. Ken McCoy denies the allegations and says his client looks forward to a hearing scheduled Thursday on the protection from abuse order request.
Chief Dan Madgar said McCoy has been on leave since the woman filed the request for the PFA order Oct. 1.
In the request, she claims McCoy threatened to kill himself and wouldn't let her out of the car after she "confronted him about his lies of filing for divorce and my recent discovery of his other girlfriend of six years."
She's afraid of harm because McCoy calls and texts her and drives past her home, the woman wrote.
