Allegheny County police announced today they have identified a suspect in a Swissvale killing last month and suspect he might have fled the state.
David Edick, 27, of Pittsburgh, faces charges of burglary and homicide in the Aug. 31 shooting death of Ryan Beal, 27, inside the Duquesne Avenue apartment he shared with his girlfriend, Lt. Andrew Schurman said in a news release.
Police suspect Mr. Edick, who is the ex-husband of Mr. Beal's girlfriend, broke into the apartment, fought with Mr. Beal and shot him about midnight, the lieutenant said. He said neighbors found Mr. Beal shot to death about 6 a.m. Aug. 31.
Mr. Edick has family in Syracuse, N.Y., and recently lived in Brookline. He is white, about 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds. He has brown hair and green eyes and was last seen with a beard.
