A man charged with vehicular homicide and drunken driving in the death of his teenage son says he had a seizure moments before the crash last year and awoke to find the 16-year-old driving before another car forced the vehicle to swerve and crash.
Brian Roles Sr., 38, choked up as he testified in Cambria County Court on Thursday that he grabbed the wheel "but it was too late."
Two doctors and an accident investigator testified earlier that Mr. Roles told them he was driving at the time of the April 2012 crash on Route 271 in East Taylor that claimed the life of Brian Jr.
Prosecutors allege the defendant was driving drunk without a license and on prescribed drugs including painkillers.
