State police said a motorcyclist was killed when he ran a red light and crashed into two vehicles Tuesday afternoon in Somerset County.
Police said Shawn Luther Hadix, 35, of Central City, Somerset County, was traveling east on Route 30 in Quemahoning on his motorcycle shortly before 4:30 p.m. when he went through a red light and clipped the front end of a car driven by Samuel James Walters, 55, of Stoystown, as it was traveling across Route 30 on South Pine Avenue. Mr. Hadix's motorcycle then struck a vehicle that was stopped in the westbound lane of Route 30 head-on, according to police.
Mr. Hadix was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the second car, Stephen J. Mapes, 56, of Somerset, and Mr. Walters suffered minor injuries, police said.
