Several people suffered minor injuries, and at least one person was arrested, after a police pursuit that began in Pittsburgh and snaked through two eastern neighborhoods Saturday afternoon, police said.
Two men were sitting in a parked car at Lincoln Avenue and Chaucer Street in Homewood shortly before 3:30 p.m. when a 17-year-old boy fired several shots into the car, police said via an email from spokeswoman Diane Richard.
The passenger was hit several times and got out of the car, but the driver drove off. Police described the passenger's condition today as stable.
The teen fled and led Zone 5 officers on a "small chase" before he was taken into custody, police said. He was charged as an adult and taken to Allegheny County Jail.
Shortly after, police saw a car with several bullet holes, matching the description of the one the man who was shot had been in. The driver refused to stop, and officers and other agencies chased the car through Penn Hills and Wilkinsburg before it crashed into another vehicle near Graham Boulevard, police said.
Several people were hurt, but it was not clear how many. Their names, and those of the driver and the teen, were not immediately available.
Police in the city's Zone 5 station are handling both cases.
