State police at Kittanning said they used a Taser to subdue a Cheswick man during a traffic stop today in East Deer.
Police said Brendan James Orris, 26, of Cheswick, was a passenger in a vehicle that entered a sobriety checkpoint early today in East Deer. The checkpoint was established along Route 28 northbound at the Creighton exit.
Police said Mr. Orris "disobeyed commands" given to him by state troopers, exiting the vehicle and refusing to surrender to police. Police said Mr. Orris was subdued by a Taser and was charged with resisting arrest and public drunkenness.
