Lions Club to host Memorial Day event

The Forest Hills Lions Club will hold a Memorial Day ceremony to honor veterans Monday.

The ceremony will take place at the veterans monument next to the borough building, 2071 Ardmore Blvd.

State and local officials will pay tribute to veterans, and refreshments will be served during the event, which starts at 11 a.m.

Memorial Day parade planned Monday

Veterans of Foreign Wars Catherine Eckert Post 5321 is hosting a Memorial Day parade at 10 a.m. Monday stepping off at the intersection of Plaport and Interboro avenues and closing with a memorial service on the Miffle School lawn.

Groups wanting to march should call quartermaster Jim Takacs no later than today at 412-464-1917.


Cultural group plans golf outing

Westmoreland Cultural Trust is sponsoring a benefit golf outing, "Golfin' A Round for the Arts," beginning at 11 a.m. June 3 at Hannastown Golf Club. Shotgun start is at noon. Entry is $125, which includes cart, greens fees, prizes, hole in one chances and dinner.

PSO offers annual community concert

The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra will present "A Celebration of Music and Community" for its annual Community Engagement Concert at 7 p.m. Friday at Wilkinsburg High School, 747 Wallace Ave. Special guests will be the Wilkinsburg Community Choir. The cost is $10, $5 for students to 12th grade.
