Roadwork season in full swing
The state Department of Transportation has announced traffic restrictions in the following areas where work is being done.
• Oakmont - Short-term lane restrictions on the east side of Hulton Bridge will occur as needed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day, including weekends, through June 29. Duquesne Light is installing poles.
• North Huntingdon - One lane of westbound Carpenter Lane between Sherrick and Michael drives is expected to be closed until next Thursday so that a sink hole can be repaired.
• Allegheny Township - A bridge on Pine Run Road between Route 356 and Ridgeview Drive will be closed starting Monday through mid-October so that the bridge, which crosses Pine Run, can be replaced. The detour is Route 356, Melwood Road, White Cloud Road and Markel Road.
• Edgewood/Swissvale area - The ramp from northbound South Braddock Avenue to the inbound Parkway East is being closed nightly at 9 p.m. through Saturday. The closure will end at 5 a.m. Friday and at 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. The posted detour is to continue north to a left on Forbes Avenue, left on Murray Avenue and right on Forward Avenue to the Squirrel Hill on-ramp to the inbound parkway. The on-ramp from southbound South Braddock Avenue to the inbound parkway will be open.
