The Bob Massie Toyota dealership under construction in Norwin Towne Square in North Huntingdon will probably be finished this spring, according to a partner in the firm that owns the rest of the plaza.

Joe Spirer, a partner in Colony Norwin LLC of North Huntingdon, said Mr. Massie will be moving all of his operations from White Oak to the new dealership.

Mr. Massie purchased a 5.2-acre lot from Colony to build the dealership.

Mr. Spirer said work on the plaza is pretty much on schedule. He said work to demolish some old sections of Norwin Towne Square continues.

Attorney Donald Tarosky, another partner in Colony, said in March that the former Scozio's Shop 'n Save would be torn down, and a new grocery store would be built in line with the stores at the back of the plaza.

"We expect to begin construction on the supermarket sometime in March ... we're hoping to have it completed in April," Mr. Spirer said.

He said his firm has found a tenant for the new grocery store, a Shop 'n Save that will be owned by franchisee Jeff Ross, who also owns Shop 'n Save stores along Fifth Avenue, McKeesport; in Olympia Shopping Center, Versailles; and in Mount Pleasant and Connellsville.

Mr. Spirer said the partners will also tear down some storefronts in the west side of the plaza going toward Malts Lane.

Most businesses in parts of the plaza to be torn down have already moved to new quarters, with the exception of Grande Pizza and China Garden, he said.

The owners of China Garden are renovating the former Parkvale Savings Bank along Malts Lane as their new location, Mr. Spirer said.

He said the owners of Grande Pizza will be moving into the former Java Trails Coffee Shop storefront.

Mr. Spirer said the arcade, or interior mall, part of the plaza has been extensively renovated, with new skylights, floors and bathrooms. New tenants in the arcade will include a Frogurt self-serve yogurt store, he said.
