Slain Penn Hills home invader identified

The man who died during an attempted Penn Hills home invasion on Dec. 19 has been identified by family members after a delay of several days, according to the Allegheny County medical examiner's office.

The man, who was pronounced dead at the scene on Edinburg Drive at 7:43 a.m., was identified as 21-year-old Devin Davis of the North Side. Mr. Davis, who was stabbed several times in the back and the neck by the homeowner, died of a stab wound in the back, according to the medical examiner's office.
