A man whose car crashed on Interstate 376 late Friday pushed a woman out of the way and stole her car after she stopped to offer help, Pennsylvania State Police said this morning.
The man's car crashed in the eastbound lanes near the Greensburg Pike exit in Churchill, state police said. About a half-hour before midnight, a woman driving a blue Mazda 3 hatchback with a Yakama bike rack on its roof stopped to help.
State police said the woman left the car running. The man pushed her away and hopped in the car and drove off, state police said.
State police described the man as black, between 6-foot-2 and 6-foot-5, about 250 pounds and wearing a black jacket and black jeans. They did not describe the car that crashed.
The Mazda's license plate is GXK8552, state police said.
