Chad Hurley, one of the founders of YouTube and a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, is giving $1 million toward an athletic and conference center being built in Indiana, Pa.

Mr. Hurley, a 1999 graduate, is asking that the arena inside the building be named for his former track coach, Ed Fry, who is retiring this year, IUP spokeswoman Michelle Fryling said.

The gift was announced at a groundbreaking Thursday for the $40 million to $60 million development adjacent to IUP that will include a six-story hotel. The project is expected to be finished in 2011.
