A Carrick man was found guilty of first-degree murder this afternoon in a 2011 shooting death in Arlington.
Allegheny County Common Pleas Judge Donna Jo McDaniel immediately sentenced Dana Johnson, 26, to life in prison without parole.
The jury found Johnson not guilty on two counts of robbery.
Prosecutors said Johnson took an assault rifle to an after-hours party at a home on Sterling Street early in the morning of Dec. 31, 2011, and killed Donald Russell, 23, of Bethel Park.
Daniel Fitzsimmons, the county's chief trial deputy district attorney, told the jury Johnson went to the party looking for someone else, and Russell was killed because he didn't follow the man's instructions.
