A 24-year-old man shot multiple times last week in Homewood died Wednesday night, the Allegheny County medical examiner's office said.
The office identified the man as William T. Scott of Penn Hills. He was pronounced dead at 9:29 p.m. at UPMC Presbyterian.
Officers from Pittsburgh police Zone 5 station in Highland Park were called to the Lounge 7101 2nd Time Around Bar on Frankstown Avenue about 12:20 a.m. Aug. 26, They had received a report that a man who had been shot came into the bar asking for help, major crimes unit Lt. Kevin Kraus said in a press release.
Police learned later that the man was sitting in the driver's seat of a car parked at the intersection of Frankstown and North Lang avenues when a man fired shots and ran from the scene.
Medics took Mr. Scott to UPMC Presbyterian in critical condition with gunshot wounds to his torso and right arm. Police described his condition as stable after surgery.
