The Andy Warhol Bridge (formerly the Seventh Street Bridge) will close to vehicles and pedestrians at 6 p.m. today and remain closed until 6 a.m. Monday, Allegheny County announced.
Crews will repair sidewalks and decks. Also this weekend, installation of the Knit the Bridge project will occur, with completion scheduled by Sunday evening. It is an attempt to create the largest "yarn bombing" installation in the U.S., part of a movement that blankets unconventional objects in colorful patterns.
Traffic will be detoured to the Rachel Carson Bridge, formerly the Ninth Street Bridge.
