Getting around could be tough today.
The outbound Squirrel Hill Tunnel and outbound Liberty Tunnel continue to be closed.
Also, weather permitting, there will be traffic stoppages this morning on the Parkway East (Interstate 376) under the Liberty Bridge, PennDOT has announced.
The traffic stoppages of 15 minutes or less will occur in both directions as needed between 7 a.m. and noon as crews from Allison Park Contractors wash the Liberty Bridge. Stoppages on the Grant Street on-ramp to eastbound I-376 will also occur.
Police will be utilized to control traffic. Motorists are advised to use caution and expect changing traffic patterns when traveling through the area.
The outbound Squirrel Hill Tunnel will remain closed until 6 a.m. Monday. But the outbound Liberty Tunnel will remain closed around the clock through 6 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12.
