Skeletal remains found in a park along Bigelow Boulevard over the weekend belonged to a human, the Allegheny County medical examiner's office said today.
An anthropologist working with the medical examiner's office is still trying to determine the gender and age of the person. It is not clear how long the remains were there.
Someone who was hiking in Frank Curto Park, between the 2300 and 2600 blocks of Bigelow Boulevard, spotted the bones in a wooded area shortly before 2 p.m. Sunday, according to the medical examiner's office.
