Pittsburgh will open cooling centers Sunday, Monday

The city of Pittsburgh will open four cooling centers on Sunday and Monday to help senior residents cope with the heat. Real-feel temperatures are expected to approach 90 degrees. Refreshments will be provided. The following centers will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday. The Healthy Active Living centers with extended hours will be Greenfield, 745 Greenfield Ave; Homewood, 7321 Frankstown Ave.; Market House, 12th and Bingham streets, South side; and Sheraden, 720 Sherwood Ave.
