Another man has been charged in the death of Steven Lee Jr., a 21-year-old McKees Rocks man who was shot after a fight broke out on a "party bus" traveling from South Side to Sheraden, according to police.
James Lawrence, 20, of East Hills joins Michael Lyons, 22, of Homewood South in facing charges of criminal homicide and carrying an unlicensed firearm. Mr. Lee was shot multiple times near Chartiers Avenue and Allendale Street in Sheraden.
Mr. Lee had been on the bus after a birthday celebration early on March 30 when three women on the bus started fighting with other passengers, according to the criminal complaint.
One of women got on the phone and said, "Wait until we get to Sheraden. This ain't over yet. I want those two. Those two are getting spanked," a witness told police. The woman was referring to Mr. Lee and his girlfriend, according to the complaint.
When the bus came to a stop, a car pulled in front of it. Mr. Lawrence, Mr. Lyons and a third man got out with their guns drawn.
One of the women on the bus said, "What took you so long," according to the complaint.
Mr. Lawrence poked his gun into the ribs of Mr. Lee's girlfriend, and one of the women said she wanted to split up Mr. Lee and his girlfriend and wanted Mr. Lawrence to "spank them."
Mr. Lawrence and Mr. Lyons then started shooting at Mr. Lee, according to police.
Mr. Lee was shot about 3:40 a.m. and pronounced dead about 30 minutes later at Allegheny General Hospital.
