Bill would rename the 31st Street Bridge

The Pennsylvania House passed legislation Monday to rename the 31st Street Bridge the William Raymond Prom Memorial Bridge.

The bill, sponsored by Rep. Dom Costa, passed 195-0; it now heads to the Senate.

Marine Lance Cpl. William Raymond Prom earned the Medal of Honor, the nation's highest award for military valor. He died trying to protect his comrades in Vietnam in 1969.
