A man convicted in 2005 of being a felon in possession of a firearm faces that charge again today along with a charge of possession and transfer of a machine gun.

Shawn Marshall Davis, 32, whose current address was not disclosed but who has lived in Beltzhoover in the past, was first convicted in 2000, for felony receiving stolen property.

In 2004, he was caught with a gun and sentenced in U.S. District Court to time served and three years of probation.

The case filed today on the federal docket accuses him of possession of two pistols, three rifles, and a 9mm Luger Sten submachine gun, Model Mk III, "which was capable of functioning normally in the semi- and full-automatic firing modes," according to the filing.
