Pittsburgh police arrested a Brookline man this weekend after they said they were suspicious of the marijuana smell and large number of fabric softener sheets hanging in his car when they pulled it over.
Alejandro Hernandez, who also goes by Alejandro Fernandez, 22, faces charges of reckless driving and drug possession in connection with the traffic stop in the 1700 block of Broadway Avenue about 9 p.m. on Saturday.
Police spokeswoman Diane Richard wrote in a press release that a Zone 6 officer was parked in the area Saturday night when he saw a blue Audi speed by and he pulled it over.
Ms. Richard wrote that the officer found a "large amount of marijuana in vacuum sealed bags inside a computer bag along with $13,300" and a round of ammunition.
The man, later identified as Mr. Hernandez, originally said that he was from Mexico and did not have proof of residency with him.
