Washington Redskins coach Mike Shanahan's money and passport were missing when he searched for them in the Heinz Field locker room during a game against the Steelers last month. Where they are now is unclear.
Redskins director of security Ed Burke released a statement today saying the items were stolen, that officers in Pittsburgh insisted on filing a police report and that the investigation is ongoing.
City police told the Post-Gazette earlier today that they were under the impression that Mr. Shanahan had misplaced the items and later found them in one of his bags. The status of the case was unclear tonight.
The Redskins lost 27-12 to the Steelers on Oct. 28.
