The man who allegedly beat an 11-year-old boy to death and the boy's mother will go to trial in January.

Anthony Lee Bush, 30, is charged with homicide for the beating that police say lasted nine hours on Feb. 11 at their Knoxville home.

Mr. Bush was ordered to be evaluated at Torrance State Hospital to determine if he was competent to stand trial. He was cleared, and Allegheny County Common Pleas Judge Donna Jo McDaniel slated trial for Mr. Bush and Cynthia McKee for Jan. 28.

Ms. McKee is charged with involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment.

Prosecutors say that Mr. Bush was watching the child while Ms. McKee was working and beat him because he did not vacuum. When the woman returned home, she found her son had been badly beaten and was barely breathing, but she waited an hour and 43 minutes before calling 911.

The boy, Donovan McKee, died the next morning at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC of blunt force trauma. mobilehome - neigh_city - breaking
