The ramp from westbound Boulevard of the Allies to the Liberty Bridge will close at 10 a.m. Sunday and remain closed through Aug. 20 for bridge rehabilitation, PennDOT announced.
The detour will be via the Parkway East to Grant Street, then right on the Boulevard of the Allies to reach the bridge. To follow the detour, drivers on the westbound Boulevard of the Allies must exit to the Parkway before reaching the Liberty Bridge-Crosstown Boulevard interchange, where the only choice will be to exit to northbound Crosstown Boulevard.
Other restrictions and closures will occur this weekend in the Interstate 579-Crosstown Boulevard corridor, the department said, as a two-year, $18.7 million rehabilitation of 25 bridge structures and elevated ramps continues.
From 8 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday the ramp from the Liberty Bridge to northbound I-579 will be closed to continue deck overlay placement, and Diamond Street will be closed between Sixth and Fifth avenues to allow crews to paint overhead ramps on I-579.
