Eleven weeks after his inauguration, Pittsburgh Mayor Bob O'Connor and key staff began working with a consultant to develop a one-page statement of 45 goals and strategies for the young administration.
The final version of the mayor's vision for the city arrived in his office in early August 2006 -- just as O'Connor was hospitalized for what would be diagnosed as a rare central nervous system lymphoma. He died Sept. 1, 2006.
The vision sheet, not released until now, reflects a novel attempt to plot the city's recovery on a single page, and provides the clearest indication of what the late mayor was trying to achieve.
This multimedia presentation aims to provide a visual context for the newly released information.
