The Amtrak train station Downtown was evacuated last night after a young man mentioned a bomb as he was checking his luggage before boarding a Chicago-bound train.
The man, who police said was of Middle Eastern descent, was arrested shortly after the 9:50 p.m. incident.
Although no explosives were found, the building was emptied and a train from New York City was stopped on the tracks near the station and kept there until police determined the building was safe. The station was reopened at 12:05 a.m.
The Pennsylvanian residence adjacent to the station was not evacuated.
