Orlando general manager Rob Hennigan said that trade talks involving Dwight Howard with the Brooklyn Nets are "stationary," but that discussions remain open with them and other teams.

"We've had discussions with Brooklyn, we've had discussions with a host of different teams about a host of different issues. And the answer is, yes we're still talking to them," Hennigan said.

Meanwhile, the Nets and center Brook Lopez agreed to an extension. Unable to work the trade with Orlando for Howard, the Nets used the first day contracts could be signed to get a deal done with their current center.

A person with knowledge of the negotiations said the deal is worth $60 million.

Coach Mike Woodson said that Jeremy Lin will "absolutely" be back next season and will enter training camp as the starter at point guard. Lin has agreed to sign an offer sheet with the Houston Rockets for about $28 million over four years. But the Knicks have said all along they planned to match any offer for their restricted free agent. Woodson said the Knicks "never once" blinked at knowing they would have to pay that figure. The Knicks also acquired center Marcus Camby from Houston in a sign-and-trade deal and re-signed guard JR Smith.
