Mandy Patinkin will switch to vocalist mode when he joins the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra for an evening of popular music and Broadway tunes in a Heinz Hall concert April 5.
It's impossible to categorize Mandy Patinkin. You may know him as Saul Berenson on Showtime's "Homeland" or the determined Inigo Montoya in "The Princess Bride," but he can call Broadway home, too. He won a Tony Award as best featured actor in a musical for "Evita" and was nominated as best actor for "Sunday in the Park with George." His concerts include a 2011 reunion with his "Evita" co-star for "An Evening With Patti Lupone and Mandy Patinkin"; his albums include "Mandy Patinkin Sings Sondheim," "Mamaloshen" and "Kidults."
Tickets for the 8 p.m. show are $35-$115 at pittsburghsymphony.org or 412-392-4900.
