Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers will play their first Pittsburgh show since 1995 at Consol Energy Center on Thursday, June 20.
Over the past two decades, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band has taken the show out of the city and outdoors to the amphitheater in Burgettstown.
The Heartbreakers' spring/summer tour (May 16-June 29) is a limited run that includes a mix of festivals, arenas and amphitheaters, among them multi-show residencies at the Beacon Theatre in New York and The Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, and headline appearances at Bonnaroo (Tennessee), Hangout Music Festival (Alabama) and Summerfest (Milwaukee).
The band is working on a follow-up to 2010's "Mojo" that is planned for 2014.
Tickets go on sale Friday, March 15, at 10 a.m. at livenation.com, all Ticketmaster outlets or charge by phone at 1-800-745-3000.
