Above: Oliver Lake plays the saxophone and Lyndon Achee, as part of the Oliver Lake Steel Quartet, performs at the City of Asylum/Pittsburgh Jazz Poetry Concert Saturday night at the New Hazlett Theater on the North Side.

The annual event is free and open to the public. Usually held outside on Sampsonia Way in the Mexican War Streets, it was moved to the New Hazlett due to rain.

In the second image above, signs with the names of persecuted writers around the world were raised.

In the third image, writer Khet Mar of Burma, a former visiting writer at City of Asylum/Pittsburgh, interviews fellow countryman Nyein Thit by video during the event.
