The opening of "Star Trek Into Darkness" has been bumped up a day to May 16.
Earlybirds can see the movie first at IMAX screenings at 8 p.m. May 15. Roughly 30 minutes of footage was filmed with extremely high-resolution IMAX cameras, and Paramount reports some of those showings in larger American cities are at capacity.
"Star Trek Into Darkness" will be everywhere -- in IMAX, 3-D or 2-D -- on May 16, a day earlier than first announced. J.J. Abrams directs the sequel starring Pittsburgh native Zachary Quinto, Chris Pine, Benedict Cumberbatch, Zoe Saldana, Alice Eve and others.
