CONTEST RULESThe Original Pittsburgh Auction Preregistration GiveawayNO PURCHASE NECESSARY Here is How to Enter: Go to post-gazette.com/auction and pre-register for The Original Pittsburgh Auction between 12:00 a.m. EST on April 18 and 9:00 a.m. EST on May 2, 2005. Or, fill out a 3x5 hand-written card with the following information: The Original Pittsburgh Auction Contest, your name, address, city, county, state and zip code, daytime phone number and your age. Entries must be dropped off at the Post-Gazette Contest Box, located at 34 Boulevard of the Allies, Pittsburgh, PA 15222. Entries must be received by 9:00 a.m. EST on May 2, 2005. No photocopied or mechanically reproduced entry forms will be accepted. Entries by any other method other than set forth above will be deemed void. Any use of any automated or programmed methods of entry is prohibited. Post-Gazette reserves the right in its sole discretion to void any entry or disqualify an entrant for use of a prohibited method of entry, fraud or submission of multiple entries. General Rules: Must be over 18 to enter. Employees of the PG Publishing Company or their participating sponsors, advertising and promotion agencies and the immediate family members of each are not eligible. Only residents of the 13 Pennsylvania counties in the Pittsburgh DMA may enter: Allegheny, Armstrong, Butler, Beaver, Clarion, Fayette, Forest, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence, Venango, Washington and Westmoreland. Void where prohibited by law. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. PG Publishing is not responsible for any error that may compromise or affect the administration of the contest. Further, PG Publishing is not responsible for, and will not consider, incomplete, lost, late, damaged, postage due, illegible or misdirected entries, and, PG Publishing has no liability for any technical problems, malfunctions of any telephone lines, computer systems, servers, providers, hardware/software, lost or unavailable network connections or failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmissions or any combination of these events. PG Publishing also is not responsible for any damage to any computer system resulting directly or indirectly from your participation in the contest. PG Publishing reserves the right in its sole discretion to modify, cancel or suspend the contest should a virus, bug, fraud or causes beyond its control impact the administration, security or proper operation of the contest. PG Publishing will not be responsible for lost, late, damaged, postage due, misdirected or mutilated mail. All entries become the exclusive property of PG Publishing and will not be returned. Incomplete or illegible entries will be deemed null and void. An entry will be selected at random on or about May 3, 2005, from among all eligible entries received by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Decisions are final on all matters relating to this contest. In the event of a dispute regarding the identification of an entrant, the name of the person provided on the entry form shall govern, rather than, for example, the name of the account holder of the email address used for the entry submission. The odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible and accurate entries received. Potential winners will be required to sign and return a Release of Liability Form within five (5) business days of attempted notification. Noncompliance within this time period may result in disqualification and the selection of an alternate winner. Any prize notification returned to PG Publishing as undeliverable will result in disqualification and an alternate winner will be selected. Winners will be notified by phone and mail. Acceptance of prize offered constitutes permission to use winner’s name and likeness for commercial purposes without further notice and compensation, unless prohibited by law. Any specific contest rules and/or addendum may be picked up at PG Publishing. PG Publishing may add additional rules, at its discretion, so long as the rule change is published on post-gazette.com and is not implemented until the day following the change. For the name of the winner, available after May 3, 2005, send your request and a separate self-addressed,stamped #10 envelope to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Attn: Gina Fontana White, 34 Boulevard of the Allies, Pittsburgh, PA 15222. Requests must be received no later than June 3, 2005. Entrants acknowledge and agree that they have entered the contest of their own free will, that the full rules and details of the contest have been made available to them in writing and they, therefore, understand and agree that PG Publishing or its agents, affiliates, sponsors, representatives or employees do not have any liability with respect to the contestants’ participation in the contest or winning a prize and are not liable for any damages from acceptance and use of the prize. By entering this contest participants agree to be bound by these rules and the decision of the sponsoring newspaper, which are binding in all respects. Prize: A choice of one Apple 20 GB iPod or one Sony Playstation Portable will be awarded to the winner. Only one prize will be awarded. The prize is not otherwise redeemable for cash or transferable. PG Publishing will not replace any lost or stolen prize once in the winner's possession. All applicable federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner.
