GRANTS: Eleven groups get funds

The CTC Foundation has awarded grants totaling $40,000 to 11 regional and state organizations involved with education, the environment and other projects.

The foundation, an arm of Concurrent Technologies Corp., awarded grants to the following organizations:

The South Park Township, Bethel Park, Pleasant Hills and Jefferson Hills public libraries, for science, math and technology books and resources.

The African American and Hispanic chambers of commerce of Western Pennsylvania, for computer purchases and other tools that will help women- and minority-owned businesses.

The Regional Trail Corp. and Rails to Trails Conservancy Northeast Field Office, for study of trail surfaces and maintenance.

The Somerset County Conservancy, for a site development plan for the Kimberly Run Natural Area.

The Mon Valley Education Consortium, for a study of technology in the consortium's 25 school districts.

The Blacklick Creek Watershed Association, for an acid mine drainage restoration project.

Concurrent Technologies Inc. is a consulting firm with offices Downtown and in 19 other locations around the country that provides management and technology solutions to government and private companies.
