Westmoreland County man killed in motorcycle crash along turnpike

A Westmoreland County man was killed Saturday night in a motorcycle crash along the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Eric J. Murray, 33, of Adamburg, was riding a Harley Davidson eastbound on the turnpike in Hempfield when, for an unknown reason, he lost control, crossed into the right lane and struck a guiderail, the county coroner's office said in a press release.

Mr. Murray was thrown from the bike, down an embankment and into a grassy area near Frye Hollow Road, the coroner's office said. He died at the scene.
