Customers of the Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County in Cavittsville, Wall, North Versailles and parts of Trafford can resume normal water usage now that a boil-water alert has been lifted.

The alert was lifted today after no bacteria was found in test samples, spokeswoman Gina Cerilli said in a news release.

The communities had been under the alert since water service was restored Thursday after two days of disruption.

A water main break Tuesday required two separate repairs to a 30-inch line on Route 993 in Trafford. A third repair had to be made when the line fractured further down the road when crews pressurized the line Wednesday.
